Abandoned sand toys, beach gear, garbage, and plastic water bottles found along the beach threatens the environment, ocean ecosystem, and leaves behind a careless footprint in the sand.
Beach X Change was inspired to be an agent of change to maintain the beauty and thoughtful aesthetic of 30A beaches. Beach X Change recovers sand toys, chairs, umbrellas, gear, and plastics found abandoned on the beach or scattered along boardwalk paths and coordinates reuse, recycle or refuse.
Throughout the high season, Beach X Change volunteers host beach sweeps to collect abandoned sand toys, beach gear and garbage. Beach X Change volunteers provides concierge contactless pickup of items renters wish to donate. We can even distribute unopened leftover foods to local food banks. Volunteers sort, sanitize, and recycle the recovered items. When possible sand toys and beach gear is made available in boxes at the boardwalks or could be sold to incoming visitors for donations.
Through vacation rental companies, Beach X Change donation bags can be available where renters can coordinate with Beach X Change for contactless pickup of your donated goods, empty water bottles, and food. When available, we will sell pre-loved (and highly sanitized) beach gear collected from past vacation visitors in exchange for donations to support future recycling and the beloved sea turtle preservation programs.
